# Metafields

Lollipop supports Shopify metafields to display custom product data — ingredients, care instructions, size guides, and more — without any code changes.

## What Are Metafields?

Metafields allow you to store additional information that isn't included in Shopify by default. They help you add custom details to products, collections, customers, orders, and other Shopify resources.

## How to Create a Metafield Definition

## How to Add Metafield Values

### Examples of Common Metafields

* **Products:** Material, Stone Shape, Care Instructions, Additional Image, and Video URL.
* **Collections:** Banner Image, Short Description, and Tagline.

### Where Metafields Are Used

* Display materials, ingredients, delivery information, and other custom content on product pages.
* Store additional descriptions, banners, and promotional content for collections and pages.
* Store customer preferences and business-specific data.
* Power custom sections and dynamic content without modifying theme code.
