# How to create a menu

Menus help customers quickly find products, collections, pages, and important links throughout your store. Properly organized navigation improves the shopping experience and makes browsing your store easier.

Steps to follow

<table><thead><tr><th width="80">Step</th><th>Action</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>1</td><td>Log in to your <strong>Shopify admin</strong>.</td></tr><tr><td>2</td><td>Go to <strong>Content → Menus</strong>.</td></tr><tr><td>3</td><td>Select an existing menu such as <strong>Main menu</strong> or <strong>Footer menu</strong>, or click <strong>Create menu</strong> to create a new one.</td></tr><tr><td>4</td><td>Configure the menu names.<br><strong>Label:</strong> Text will help to identify the menu while choosing in customizer.</td></tr><tr><td>5</td><td>Configure the menu item.<br><strong>Label:</strong> Text displayed to customers in the navigation menu.<br><strong>Link:</strong> Select a destination such as Collection, Product, Page, Blog, Search, or Web address.</td></tr><tr><td>6</td><td>Click <strong>Add menu item</strong> to add more menus.</td></tr><tr><td>7</td><td>If needed, drag menu items to reorder them or move items left and right to create nested sub-menus.</td></tr><tr><td>8</td><td>Click <strong>Save</strong>.</td></tr></tbody></table>

## Available Menu Types

* **Main menu:** Displays at the top of your store.
* **Footer menu:** Displays at the bottom of your store.
